quotes Nonsense. It got a bad review as it was not a good product. End of story.

quotes Radarr, you do bring up a good point. I actually thought about requesting one to be honest. However, I believe that with a nice straight backplate the guide will function as intended (ie: no dropped chains.) I got it pretty close, but there is only so much one can do with washers. The noise, the price and the lack of a bashguard still remain, however, and are the major downsides for me. I have seriously never heard a louder drivetrain. As an aside to a comment saying it was badly installed; I have been setting up chainguides since the original bullet brothers guides, and have ridden and tested prototypes from Mr Dirt, MRP and e.13. Heck, I even built my own out of random parts way, way back before they were being sold as a bike part. It worked very well. Setup was not an issue. In fact, the photos are of the final setup that seemed to work best. It wasn't like it was just tossed on and ridden once! Aluminum and carbon fibre plates carrying a steel chain under tension is going to echo and make noise, end of story. The location of the idler pulley makes it worse. To be fair, the noise level might have dropped a bit had the backplate been straight, as the top piece would have been slightly more in line with the chain resulting in less rub under power and on rough trails.

quotes Someone should notify Beaumont that he didn't win a World Cup in 2010, and should hand back in his trophy and prize money.

quotes Gerry, I say this because I know it for a fact. They are made at YMA in China. Even the link and dropouts on this one are made in China. (Some of the carbine parts were made in Temecula, but not so on this one.)

quotes With the 300mm, sometimes on in mode 2 (pan) as the lens wobble can be pretty bad with a 6.5lb lens on a 4lb body after a 6 hour day. I have T rex arms. I switch back and forth though as the gyro in that thing is huge and kills camera batteries pretty quickly. Shorter pans are harder to get right, so I'll turn it on then. Longer pans (when i can be further away and have wider, smoother lens movement) I'll leave it off. With any other lens, off. In fact, my 300mm F2.8 is the only lens I have with IS. And thanks!

quotes I believe he has already done a series on this? I think I also had a 3 part article run on it. Run a search! If you have no choice but to shoot during the day in the trees at noon with spotty light - fill flash is king. Make it look unobtrusive. Make it look natural. Try not to make it look like you were shooting at midnight with a flashlight. Remember the bigger your light source, the softer it will be.

Thanks for recognizing those who support the DH1 movement albeit small and vague for the moment. On a side note, I was getting so stoke to have a go at the 2 DH1 races scheduled in France. It is a shame not to be able to let the meagerly poor smash it out with the Pros. We might just find some new faster talents. It could make the events more accessible for many riders who are faster than the top boys and girls presently in the lime light. Do not get me wrong, I love the current crop of riders but, imagine discovering the next "Aaron Hill" or the next "Floriane Moseley". Some of us could live the dream or just gauge our skills on a new scales.

You said... "no sponsors, no venues and no teams committed" which is simply untrue. Surely, you have heard of Santa Cruz Synd.,Cedric G. and the Athertons were mentioned in an internet article too but, I cannot seem to put my "mouse" on it. There are also several venues mentioned and scheduled. Why are you so snide to boot!

You should really check your facts before advancing such comments about the DH1 series.
